Open up possibilities

Kinder Change brings friends and family together to help celebrations go further—opening up possibilities, from thoughtful gifts to milestone moments and dreams that once felt out of reach.

Maya's first holiday

Celebrating Maya

This year we're celebrating something a little different. Instead of gifts, we're putting everything towards Maya's first trip to paddle in the sea. If you'd like to be part of it, we'd be so grateful—but simply celebrating with us means the world.

A gift for the gift-givers

Thoughtful celebrations without the pressure — where contributions always stay private, and the memories and connections are shared.

You're invited to celebrate Emily

Instead of another bottle of prosecco, we're clubbing together to help Emily take the ceramics course she's been talking about for years!

messages

Shared together

Every amount stays private. Every kind message becomes part of the memory.

why?

Because celebrating together isn't always as simple as it should be.

the quiet tension

Celebrations can ask more of others than we mean them to.

gifting ideas can feel overwhelming

money can feel awkward to talk about and organise

financial and time pressures can arise

social comparison can creep in

well intentioned gifts go unused

what it protects

A celebration can carry values as well as gifts.

discretion

People can give what feels right, without comparison or public totals.

community

One shared place for small gestures, warm words, and collective care.

financial learning

Children can see thoughtful choices around saving, giving, and spending.

less waste

Fewer duplicate gifts, fewer forgotten toys, more intention behind what arrives.

social impact

Celebrations can include giving back, so joy travels a little further.

begin gently

Create a celebration that feels thoughtful from the start.

how it works

  1. create a page

Set up a celebration event with the story, goal and details you want to share.

  2. invite your people

Share the link/QR code with family, friends, and guests. Send out via email, WhatsApp, or download the code to send out with party invites. Then others can contribute what feels comfortable, without pressure or comparison — at the touch of a button.

  3. keep the meaning

Individual contribution amounts stay private. Messages are gathered together and kept so the focus stays on the celebration, not the spend.

common questions

are contribution amounts visible to other guests?
Never — contribution amounts always stay private from other contributors and even the celebration host. The focus stays on the celebration, not comparison.
can guests still leave messages?
Yes. Messages are gathered together as part of the page, so kind words and memories stay connected to the celebration. These are public to anyone involved in the celebration and kept as a memory for the host to revisit.
is Kinder Change only for children’s celebrations?
Not at all. We think Kinder Change is great for teaching financial literacy to young people, but it's for everyone and can be used for birthdays, family milestones, group gifts, experiences, holidays, new beginnings and thoughtful celebrations of all kinds.
can i have more than one event at a time?

Absolutely — you're welcome to create and manage multiple events through your Kinder Change account.

Some families use Kinder Change for birthdays, milestones, experiences, group gifts and seasonal celebrations throughout the year.

Each event is managed separately, with its own messages, contributions and withdrawal flow. They're then kept as a memory on your dashboard, so you can look back over your old celebrations and important moments whilst continuing to make new memories.

what if someone can only contribute a small amount?
That’s completely okay. Kinder Change is designed to remove pressure and comparison, so people can contribute what feels comfortable to them. We currently have a minimum contribution of £5 to ensure we're sustainable and ensure we don't have to charge additional stripe fees. This is something we'll look to decrease over time.
can people contribute from outside of the UK?

Yes — family and friends can contribute from different countries as long as card payments are supported in their region.

Kinder Change is designed to help loved ones feel part of a celebration, even from far away.

do people give anonymously?
Names can still be shared, but contribution amounts stay private.
how can i thank contributors?

At the end of a celebration, you can send a personalised wrap-up email to everyone who contributed — thanking them for being part of the moment.

You can also share what the contributions helped towards, any memories or photos from the celebration, and whether part of the total was given back to charity.

does it cost money to create a page?

No — signing up and creating a page is free. Contributions are processed through Stripe. Kinder Change takes a small fee from the final total when funds are released on withdrawal, to help cover secure payments, running costs and continued improvements to the platform.

Any fees are shown clearly before you confirm withdrawal, so there are no surprises. You can read more in payments & payouts.

how are contributions and payouts handled?

Contributions are processed securely through Stripe. When an event host confirms withdrawal, payouts are released through Stripe to their connected account. Contribution amounts always stay private.

You can read the full guide in our payments & payouts section.

where can I read the full details?
For how payments and payouts work, see payments & payouts. For policies and platform terms, see our terms and privacy policy.

social impact

paying it forward

Alongside thoughtful celebrations, Kinder Change spotlights charities and community causes that families can choose to support at the end of an event.

We hope to gently raise awareness of meaningful organisations — including smaller and lesser-known causes doing important work.
